Biblical Fiction
- Journey to the Well: A Novel by Diana Wallis Taylor – 2 stars. A fictionalized account of the Samaritan woman at the well. Very rushed.
Christian Fiction
- Healing Stones by Nancy Rue and Stephen Arterburn – 3 stars. A very interesting portrayal of the challenge that he who is without sin should be the first to cast stones.
- A Tailor-Made Bride by Karen Witemeyer – 3 stars. An easy weekend read.
- The Choice by Robert Whitlow – 3.5 stars. A look at what teens go through as they try to decide if they will abort, adopt out, or raise their baby.
- Unending Devotion by Jody Hedlund – 4 stars. The best fiction book I read in February, a tale involving American Old Midwest brothels and mining towns. Based on a true story!
- Against the Tideby Elizabeth Camden – 3 stars. Good story. Lacking character development.
- Harvest of Rubies by Tessa Afshar – 3 stars. Set during the Biblical period of Esther. Great message but the writing is missing something.
Classics
- The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne – 3 stars. It’s obvious why this book is a classic, even if I didn’t care for the actual story.
Memoir
- Unorthodox: The Scandalous Rejection of My Hasidic Roots by Deborah Feldman – 3 stars. A thought provoking book but the author is still missing God.
- Clara’s War: One Girl’s Story of Survival by Clara Kramer – 5 stars. Hands down the best book of February. A very touching Holocaust story, both inspiring and horrifing.
Currently Reading
- Outcasts United: A Refugee Team, an American Town by Warren St. John
- First Light by Bodie Thoene, Brock Thoene – I love the Thoene’s books. This is a reread.
- Mrs. Lincoln’s Dressmaker by Jennifer Chiaverini – Her newest novel, the first novel not part of the Elm Creek Quilters series.
I’m also linking up with Judy’s reading post.
Happy March reading!
Unending Devotion sounds very interesting. I'll have to pick it up sometime (when I start reading again–Gosh, but weddings do interrupt normal routines.)
Sara's War sounds good. I don't know how those people did it. Also I read Mrs Lincoln's Dressmaker. I did enjoy it. It's not like her usual books.
The library hasn't gotten the Chiaverini book yet, but it's on my wish list. I was interested in the rest of your list, and like your rating system.
Ooh Unending Devotion sounds like something I'd like! Great list this month. Happy reading!

Well, I'm going to have to read Unending Devotion especially since I alread have it on my Kindle.
I wish that I could read books as fast as you can, but I can't.
Blessings!
Can't wait to hear what you think of the new Chiaverini. I didn't know she was branching out.
Journey to the Well sounded familiar and sure enough I read it. And I still don't know what I think about fictionalized Biblical accounts.

I always like reading your lists. 🙂
