Making cheese – the prep work

Tomorrow I head to the store to buy the ingredients for making feta cheese!

These directions are seriously intimidating… heat milk with indirect heat. Hold exactly at 86 degrees for an hour. Stir. Allow to set for another half hour, maintaining 86 degree temperature. Eek! Well, we shall see what happens!

3 Thoughts on “Making cheese – the prep work

  1. I wonder how that would work with a Japanese hotpot. We have a choice of temperatures to pick but we only use it as a ready source of hot water.

  2. Sounds like fun! Can't wait to hear how it turned out!

  3. Well. I applaud your efforts. I looked into making cheese once and decided it was a no-go. Costco to the rescue for me and feta cheese!
